SAXOPHONE QUARTET - SALIEF KIETA

Composed by Australian composer Rod Herbert.


African style piece influenced by the music of African griot vocalist, Salief Kieta from Mali.

Wonderful flowing vocals often accompanied by an African harp called the Kora

and an African xylophone called the Balafon.

Either Soprano Saxophone lead or Alto Saxophone lead. Optional Bass Saxophone part.

Additional percussion parts can be added.

Contains Soprano Sax and Tenor Sax either optional improvisation or written solo.

Written for a Saxophone Quartet led by Ms Sam Reidy and Ms Loretta Palmiero,

when they were students of Mark Walton at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
